This Kaigani Haida design is based on part of a grave monument carved by John Wallace ca. 1880. A photograph of it taken in Howkan, Alaska in 1897 is in Wright's Northern Haida Master Carvers, and a replica can be seen in front of the Burke Museum at the University of Washington.
