Eagle Frontlet

1 3/8" x 1 5/8" x 5/8"

This design is based on a frontlet (dancing headdress) from the Northern Wakashan area of the coast. The original frontlet features abalone inlays in the rim and eyes, and has been hollowed out more than my much smaller carving. According to Holm, "the humanoid bird is probably an eagle, a crest of the original owner." It is illustrated in Holm's The Box of Daylight.
