Billiken (large)

This interesting version of the billikin is cast directly from a carving done in the 1920s, when the billikin fad was still a recent memory in America. The original carving was executed in walrus ivory, a material commnoly used by Alaskan carvers at that time. Although all billikins are good luck charms, according to tradition a billikin given as a gift will bring its new owner even more luck. Billikin is also known as"the god of things as they ought to be".
